Wat Mongkolratanaram

Today...my roomie and I decided to check out the Buddhist Thai Temple in Berkeley that is only open on Sundays for breakfast and lunch. My roomie tried the Pad Thai noodles and I had the Chicken with Cashew and Chicken Yellow Curry with rice...we even tried the Thai Ice Tea which was pretty good. For dessert I had the Mango Sticky Rice which was also not bad. This place is worth checking out on a Sunday...now I can see why it's packed...the food portions were plentiful and very affordable. I might come back again to try their Beef Noodle Soup!

Cha Cha Cha's on Haight Street & Bruno...

Two thumbs up for Cha Cha Cha's Restaurant on Haight Street and the movie Bruno....The Tapas were amazing...We had the Fried Calamari, Fried Platanos Maduros (sweet bananas with black beans and sour cream), Cajun Shrimp (in spicy cream sauce), and not to mention the Sangria...yumm! My gf and I were pretty tipsy when we left the place...just in time for our movie Bruno...we had a good buzz going on and it carried on into the theater...the movie was pretty funny...I heard some not good reviews of Bruno but I still wanted to see it anyway...I would say it was even more hilarious then Borat...I have been a fan of Sacha Cohen since his Ali G days on HBO.

Blackberry Bliss from Jamba Juice

I just had a Blackberry Bliss from Jamba Juice...it's their newest smoothie...not bad...not bad at all! I love Blackberries so I have decided to give it a try and have this smoothie on a beautiful and warm day like today. Blackberries are very high in antioxidants just like any other berries...which include Blueberries, Rasberries, Strawberries, etc....I think this is my new favorite from Jamba Juice!

Tomatoes = Fountain of Youth?

Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene. In fact, tomatoes have the highest amount of lycopene than any other food.

This is what gives tomatoes their lovely red color.

Lycopene has been extensively studied, and has been proven to show amazing results in helping to prevent certain cancers such as; prostrate, lung and breast.

Tomatoes are also an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin K, potassium, niacin, and folate.

Since our bodies can’t produce lycopene, you need to get it from food. It’s a wonderful antioxidant and able to protect your skin from aging.

The father of my children is Italian and every year his family make their own tomato sauce, which stands to reason why everyone in the family has such lovely skin. They grew up eating tomato sauce in soups and pasta nearly everyday.

Tests on lycopene in tomatoes has shown it to be absorbed into the body at least five times more efficiently, when the tomatoes are cooked into a sauce, puree, tomato ketchup or juice.

This is a great way to protect you from premature aging.

Eating the tomatoes raw, you will still get anti aging benefits, only lycopene is better absorbed through processed tomato products.

It has been discovered that tomatoes can also help protect your skin from harmful UV rays from the sun.

Just by including tomato paste, pasta sauce or tomato ketchup into your daily diet will do wonders not only for wrinkles, but help give an added protection for your skin.

More health benefits of lycopene

* reduction in the risk of cancer
* prevention of heart disease
* prostrate health
* help lower cholesterol levels

Imagine your skin, if you include tomato sauce or paste into your diet! And best of all, no matter how you include tomatoes into your diet, tomatoes are non fattening.

My sister puts tomato paste on toast for herself and her kids, which is another easy way to include it into your diet.

If your kids are anything like mine, and can never have enough tomato ketchup on their chips, we can now all take a sigh of relief, knowing they are getting amazing health benefits from it.

Gone are the days when I am fighting with my son, to give me back the bottle!

Having said that, make sure you buy the organic tomato ketchup, as this contains upto 3 times the amount of lycopene, than non organic.

Did you know you can even buy beauty products with tomato in them! This is used to help protect your skin from the sun.

P.S. This article reminds me of a movie I just seen earlier tonight called "Dumplings"...it's a Chinese twisted movie about an older woman wanting to stay and look younger because she had found out her Husband is cheating on her with a younger female. She seeks this lady who sells these magic dumplings...the secret ingredient in these dumplings are baby fetuses...which is what reverses the aging process and makes her look younger...

Andy Caldwell @ Vessel July 16 Thurs...

I had a blast last night dancing to Andy Caldwell live at Vessel...it's been a while since I had a dance workout like that...lol...I also got to meet some cool ppls too that were pretty swell on the dance floor. I am not saying I am a bgirl or house stepper but I do love to dance...it's a great way just to feel good and be one with the music...I can't stand people who are wall flowers trying too hard to look cool or who are way into their appearance. Anyways his set was amazing...made me dance all night! Vessel is a cool spot in SF...not bad for a Thursday night...I can imagine on the weekends it must be crazy packed. The last time I was there was for DJ Z-Trip...another amazing DJ.

What a beautiful day in the Bay!

San Francisco is beautiful today...quite warm...which I love! I strolled through the Embacadero and checked out some cool Art and Jewelry vendors across the Ferry building. I have an appreciation for street vendors...whether they sell their Art, Jewelry or whatever knick knacks they have.
